PATNA: Bihar CM Nitish Kumar on Monday called on Prime Minister of Japan Shinzo Abe in Tokyo.PM Abe welcomed Bihar CM to the land of Japan and spoke of growing ties between India and Japan.Nitish, in his speech, spoke about cooperation between Japan and Bihar and highlighted importance of Nalanda University, Bodhgaya and Budhhist circuit in Bihar.Nitish also spoke about the proposed Patna Metro project and sought Japan’s cooperation in high speed rail circuit and disaster risk reduction.Nitish also invited Taro Kono to visit Bihar, the land where Lord Budhha got enlightenment.Earlier on Sunday, Nitish Kumar left for a four-day visit to Japan, along with an 11-member team comprising state’s road construction department (RCD) minister Nand Kishore Yadav, Bihar government officials and members of trade and industries.In the 16th and 17th centuries, thousands of Japanese traders also migrated to the Philippines and assimilated into the local population.
